Africa Race. Happy New Year!

The stage with very various tasks finished. Preventions of organizers about keeping constant attention concentration came true. The stage which quickly began for our crews was saturated.

Stage 1. Not too fast and not too easy.

Unloading from the ferry and border formalities passed quickly, the organizers have worked very effectively. Start of the stage took place exactly at the appointed time. The first high-speed section was announced by the organizers, as typical for Morocco, with a rocky surface and a lot of navigation tasks. The day seemed perfect for the crews - sunny, cool, moist soil, relieving of dust and keeping traces of leaders. But in fact, competitors could not call this SS as an easy one.

Television coverage of Dakar Rally 2015

International rally-marathon "Dakar" will pass in South America from 3 to 17 January 2015. Russian participants will take part in the race. For "KAMAZ-master" team this year is special, the team will fight to retain the title of "Dakar" champions. Intrigue in trucks category is guaranteed, interest for the race from the Russian TV audience is huge, and the support of the Russian fans is very important for our sportsmen.

A thousand and one hundred kilometers.

The fans of Africa Eco Race welcomed the yesterday's start, despite the cold and biting wind. At night, the participants moved to the port of Motril to be loaded onto the ferry, it was necessary to pass 1100 km of standard public roads of very high quality. The difficulty was only the fact that it is forbidden to be late for loading onto the ferry. The departure of cars from the hotel was at 3 am. Everything was prepared in advance, surprises didn't happen.

Africa Race.The day is long but faces are familiar.

The day of checks passed, it was busy, eventful, but quite predictable. There were many familiar faces: funny, serious, concerned, but always friendly. The team passed administrative checks very quickly, because all the necessary documents were prepared perfectly (thanks, Oksana) and technical checks seemed long, possibly due to the cold and windy weather.

Africa Race. Technical regulations.

Rules of rally life are described in a document titled "Regulations", and each participant of the race, making the entry fee, undertakes to perform these rules, and in case of violation, he should be ready to be punished.

The head of Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov presented to the «KAMAZ-master» team the Olympic Torch.

The President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Alexander Zhukov presented to the "KAMAZ-master" team the Olympic Torch. The presentation took place in ROC building in Moscow during the meeting devoted to the forthcoming start of the team in rally raids "Dakar" and "Africa Eco Race". "This is to remember Olympic Games in Sochi in the run-up to which you became the first torchbearers. We wish you good luck next year and we expect to win", - Zhukov told.

"KAMAZ-master" team sent cars to "Dakar-2015"

On November 9 cars of "KAMAZ-master" team went to the start of the rally-marathon "Dakar-2015". President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the minister of sport of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov, the General Director of OJSC "KAMAZ" Sergey Kogogin and the head of executive committee of Naberezhnye Chelny Nail Magdeev visited the team on the Tarlovka ground before its departure.

"KAMAZ-master" on Russian Grand Prix in Sochi

On October 12, Sochi hosted the first in the history Russian stage of the Formula 1. It is clear that the Russian fans attention was focused on the Russian pilot Daniil Kviat. Members of "KAMAZ-master" team followed closely the performance of this young and talented rider. Especially as the "KAMAZ-master" and "Scuderia Toro Rosso," in which Daniil acts, have logos of the Red Bull company on sides of their cars. By its invitation, a delegation of the team of 22 people visited Sochi and was able to witness the first Russian Grand Prix.

CHILDREN'S MEDICAL CENTER in Naberezhnye Chelny get help WITHIN VTB PROGRAM "WORLD WITHOUT TEARS."

August, 28th "KAMAZ-master" team took part in the charity Program of team partner VTB - "World Without Tears." VTB financed the purchase of a machine for artificial lung ventilation for the anaesthesiology and reanimation department for prematurely born and newborn children of Perinatal Center in the Kama Children's Medical Center in Naberezhnye Chelny. According to the tradition of the Program "World Without Tears" VTB Bank together with the characters of TV program "Good night, kids!" organized the children's festival with the presentation of gifts to young hospital patients.

Andrey Karginov participated in the stage of Volkswagen scirocco r-cup

On July 11 and 12 on the Moscow Raceway track demo drives of racing Cup Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup, focused on the support of the movement to protect the environment for the first time held in Russia as a part of prestigious DTM series. Performances of the participating vehicles with engines running on natural gas are included in the program of racing series DTM. In addition to the legends of motorsport, stars of other sporting disciplines took part in the race.

Drifting on sports "KAMAZ" truck

"KAMAZ-master" team participated in Auto show - Kazan City Racing. Auto show unique by its program and its scale was held on June 15 in Kazan. The entrance to the show was free so everybody could admire the demo drives and feel the roar of racing cars in the historical center of Kazan. About 50,000 spectators gathered on stands and along the route laid in historical center of the city near Millennium Square.

VISIT OF LIEBHERR PLANT

March 12, representatives of OJSC "KAMAZ" visited Liebherr engine plant. The delegation of KAMAZ included Deputy General Director of OJSC "KAMAZ" - Development Director Irek Gumerov, "KAMAZ-master" team leader – Vladimir Chagin, technical director of the team - Vladimir Guba and bronze winner of the Dakar - 2014 Eduard Nikolaev. The latter arrived at the meeting by the rally truck which led the crew to the podium. The engine of Liebherr Company was installed on this car.

But anybody didn’t expect dramatic developments, such tension and intensity of emotions that have happened the last day of the Dakar-2014.

The twelfth victory of the KAMAZ-master Team

January 18, Valparaiso The Dakar 2014 was highly dramatic until the last minute. The clash of titans between Iveco and Kamaz will have been a close one until the very end. But the truth triumphed in the end. You can fall at accident but you will never win at random. At the finish line the overall leader Andrey Karginov is 9'35" behind the Dutchman's Iveco. Andrey Karginov is for about 3 minutes behind Gerard de Rooy in the general classification.

Truck race - What will happen tomorrow?

January 17, La Serena Chile is a narrow lowland squeezed between the sea and mountains throughout its length. The relief changes to the south, and the climate compared with scorching sands of the Atacama desert is cooler. The first thing you notice upon arrival in La Serena is the appearance of vegetation. The competitors of the Dakar-2014 left the Atacama today, which, however, was in no hurry to let the drivers go. The route El Salvador – La Serene included 349 km against the clock with the dunes for the last 150 km.

Andrey Karginov takes the leadership of the general standings

January 16, El Salvador Promo document distributed to journalists tells that Chile occupies the first position on the integral indicator of competitiveness in Latin America now (27 in the world ranking), enters in the top-30 on solvency ranking. Country's major industry is mining (copper and other metals), Chile is the world's largest exporter of copper. Today's destination is just copper deposit. The rally bivouac is located in El Salvador which considered one of the richest reserves of this metal on the globe. Greenish vitriol color of mountains (certificate of deposits of copper ore) was predominant in today's route scenery. The first thing that catches the eye on assistance route is damaged vehicles of competitors who were forced to drop out of the rally. It is clear evidence that the current Dakar is merciless as towards people and vehicles. Numbers of participants in trucks category reduced by nearly half.

Karginov - De Rooy: a small gap!

January 14, Iquique The rally crossed South America and heads north towards the Pacific Ocean. Only famous Pan-American Highway separates the bivouac at Iquique from stormy waters of the ocean. At this point we meet the famous dune of Iquique with its dizzying 3 kilometer descent towards the waves of the Pacific. Hot and severe breath of Atacama meets here with cold ocean currents. Some such confrontation unfolded on the race route between the two contenders for the podium in the trucks standings: Russian Andrey Karginov and Dutchman Gerard de Rooy.

Andrey Karginov won the stage Salta-Calama

January 13, Calama. There was a sandstorm on the bivouac in Calama. Fine sand and dust eat into the eyes and skin. It was a very hard route for the assistance group today. First, they had to climb at an altitude of 4840 meters while crossing the Andes, and then followed a dangerous 20 km descent from the mountains straight into the Atacama desert. Many trucks have stopped on the sidelines. Those who are more experienced have made a stop to cool overheated brakes, and some others didn’t notice the problem with the brakes and were running around their vehicles with fire extinguishers then. The wheels of the one team’s assistance vehicle were melted and all four tyres were flamed.

Train of the Clouds

January 12, Salta Once a week the Tren de las Nubes called "the Train of the Clouds" departs from Salta and stops only at San Antonio de los Cobres station for tourists. Currently, the train leaves Salta station for the 15-hour, 434-kilometre round trip to the viaduct La Polvorilla, located 4,220 m above sea level. After the rest day the rally competitors became like passengers of Tren de las Nubes, on the 12th of January on the stage Salta-Salta they had to climb high into the mountains.

January 11, Salta There is a lo of journalists, organizers, participants near the hospitality area set up by the energy drink brand Red Bull in the early morning... It turned out that nine times world champion Sébastien Loeb (WRC) decided to visit the Dakar bivouac. The guest is a little bit late.

Tucuman-Salta: The Dakar rally is like a WRC

January 10, Tucuman-Salta. Special stage Tucuman-Salta measuring 156 km is a light version of yesterday's route.  The task of all competitors in the trucks category was to protect the results in the general standings before the rest day, rather than try to improve their positions in the standings. Everyone drove very fast today, it was impossible to overtake on the very narrow tracks, and of course there was a lot of dust on the route.

The day for navigators

January 9, Tucuman. The beginning of the day was very great! The stage Chilecito-Tucuman with two sections of 211 km and 106 km (the second part of the stage was modified) separated by the zone of neutralization promised to be a turning point in the trucks standings of the Dakar-2014. We don’t know what tactics was chosen by Chagin on the eve, but all crews of the KAMAZ-master Team began to set the pace on the track from the start. Eduard Nikolaev showed the best time at the first checkpoint and increased his advantage over their pursuers. According the results of the third checkpoint, Gerard De Rooy appears to be 15' behind Nikolaev.

Heat in Chilecito.

January 8, Chilecito. Terrible heat makes dream about the time when we cross the Andes. This mountain range is the most important in South America climatic barrier isolating the western territory of the Main Cordillera from the influence of heated air masses over the pampas of Argentina; and isolating the eastern coast from the influence of the cold Pacific Ocean. The Andes is split into several ranges, which are separated by intermediate depressions. There is Chilecito on one of this depression.

Andrew Karginov leads the dance at the stage San Rafael-San Juan

January 7, San Juan. Many fans were certainly surprised today to see the trucks starting order. Instead of the winner of yesterday's stage Anton Shibalov was Gerard de Rooy. The fact is that Sport Stewards returned to Gerard de Rooy the time spent on assisting the crew of Mardeev. 22 minutes 40 seconds were returned to De Rooy, although Gerard insisted that he spent on helping 30 minutes. Waiting for news from today’s stage San Rafael - San Juan we discuss the situation with a Dutch journalist. It would seem that my companion must protect compatriot. But he said that De Rooy got stuck trying to go round this place.

The truck of Ayrat Mardeev heads to San Juan

The truck of Ayrat Mardeev which yesterday has suffered a crash on the km 386 of the stage San Luis - San Rafael, arrived at the bivouac in San Rafael today in the morning. As it was already said, KAMAZ followed along the edge of dry river bed. In a very narrow part (on the right side was a mountain, and on the left – edge) due to the mass of the vehicle, the soil has fallen under the wheels and KAMAZ crashed and turned completely onto his roof. Fortunately, the crew wasn’t injured.

2nd Stage, Ayrat Mardeev have suffered a crash

January 6, San Rafael. The problems with the system of competitors’ results tracking in real time continue for the second consecutive day on the Dakar. There were the only one place where the system worked during the stage, it was CP1. The km 259 of the special was the only reference point for understanding what was happening on the track. But the information about the results of the truck special stage caused more questions than answers. Let’s see: the best time showed Belarusian Siarhei Vyazovich and his MAZ.

Ayrat Mardeev won the first stage of the rally Dakar–2014.

January 5, San Luis. It seems that the organizers of the rally from the first stage intend to prove that their promise "Dakar 2014: longer, higher and tougher" is not a joke. Liaison of 809 kilometers led the participants from Rosario to the heart of the South American continent, in San Luis, a town with 110 thousand population, located in the foothills of the Andes at an altitude of 762 meters above sea level. The bivouac of the rally is set on a race track in the picturesque village of Potrero de los Funes, known by the fact that some stages of FIA GT were held there. The circuit was created by modifying the ring road that encircles Lake Potrero de los Funes, at the course's center. And the lake is in the crater of the extinct volcano! But the struggle at the Dakar-2014 began to look like active volcano.

KAMAZ-master Team started on the Dakar - 2014.

The ceremonial start of the rally Dakar-2014 took place on the 4th of January in the Argentinean city of Rosario. This year the organizers of the Dakar decided to organize the podium ceremony not in the same day of the sport start day. The ceremonial start began at about 15:00 (local time). The show took place near the Monumento a la Bandera - a monumental complex built in honor of the national the Argentine flag which was raised for the first time in 1812. The event was delayed until late in the evening. By the time of the start of Eduard Nikolaev, the title holder with the race number 500, it was already getting dark .

Dakar 2014 on Russian TV channels

The international rally-marathon rally Dakar will be held in South America from 4 to 18 January 2014. For the KAMAZ-master Team it will be a particular year, the crews are still the guys to beat at the Dakar, they return to defend Dakar truck title. The intrigue in the truck category as well as the interest of the Russian TV viewers is guaranteed, and the support of the Russian fans will be more important than ever for our pilots.

"Dakar trucks: faster, safer, lighter!".

Flight Madrid - Buenos Aires. Almost 100 percent of passengers of this flight are the competitors of the rally Dakar-2014. The route is on screens of the plane. Exactly over the city of Dakar, the capital of Senegal, the plane turns and heads for the west across the Atlantic Ocean to the shores of South America. Catching sight of a familiar name on the screens the audience which seems to be nodding suddenly woke up and moved toward the screen to make the symbolic picture. Thanks, Africa! In 1979 it gave the start of the famous off-road adventure. Hello, South America, the place where this big event moved in 2009!
