"KAMAZ-master" team participated in Auto show - Kazan City Racing.
Auto show unique by its program and its scale was held on June 15 in Kazan. The entrance to the show was free so everybody could admire the demo drives and feel the roar of racing cars in the historical center of Kazan. About 50,000 spectators gathered on stands and along the route laid in historical center of the city near Millennium Square.
The audience watched with interest demo drives of Formula 1 representatives - Caterham F1 Team. British stuntman and Guinness World Record-breaker Terry Grant surprised guests of Kazan City Racing with his tricks, and motofreestylers impressed fans with acrobatic tricks on unrealistic heights.
Naturally, there is a special reverent attitude to "KAMAZ-master" team in Tatarstan. Therefore everybody was waiting for the performance of "Dakar" winners. Teammates didn’t disappoint fans’ hopes, having prepared many pleasant surprises. The winner of "Dakar-2013" Eduard Nikolaev organized an exciting drift show. Large-tonnage "KAMAZ", which is more associated with sand dunes of Africa and South America, made this time the breathtaking twists on the asphalt. Drift on the off-road truck - this is another know-how of "KAMAZ-master" team, which never ceases to amaze his fans.
Pilots of "KAMAZ-master" team were involved in an autograph signing session. There was a long queue to Andrey Karginov and Ayrat Mardeev, but after all everyone got the poster or card with signatures of "Dakar" heroes. The team also demonstrated the legendary "KAMAZ -49252", on which the Russian team in 1996 won its first victory at "Dakar". Next to the old truck there was a representative of new generation of team’s sports trucks - "KAMAZ-4326" shining with colors of sponsors. The one on which Andrey Karginov won 12th victory at Dakar rally. Fans could appreciate the evolution of the racing trucks. President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov praised the team for developing. He came to the bivouac of the team accompanied by the first Russian Formula 1 driver Vitaly Petrov. "KAMAZ-master" team leader Vladimir Chagin told the guests about the latest technical innovations used in sports "KAMAZ" trucks and about the preparation for future competitions.
During a media briefing Vladimir Chagin noted that the day was really interesting: "Wonderful festival! Within the event there was a lot of useful communication. Thanks to the team partners who were able to find time and to be here today. I'm very glad that the audience liked our performance. Eduard Nikolaev managed to surprise everyone. Tatarstan is very sporting republic and the interest to such events in the run-up to the stage of the Formula-1 which will held in Sochi is quite clear. But personally, I did not expect that there will be too many spectators – people sat even on walls of the Kremlin! Thanks for the great interest and a warm welcome! ".
