March 12, representatives of OJSC "KAMAZ" visited Liebherr engine plant.
The delegation of KAMAZ included Deputy General Director of OJSC "KAMAZ" - Development Director Irek Gumerov, "KAMAZ-master" team leader – Vladimir Chagin, technical director of the team - Vladimir Guba and bronze winner of the Dakar - 2014 Eduard Nikolaev. The latter arrived at the meeting by the rally truck which led the crew to the podium. The engine of Liebherr Company was installed on this car.
Representatives of the team told the gathered plant workers and journalists about last Dakar, answered all questions, and discussed prospects of further cooperation. This first visit of "KAMAZ-master" sports truck to Liebherr plant aroused great interest among management and employees of the enterprise, who had the opportunity to see the results of their work, embodied in the victory of Dakar.
According to Vladimir Chagin, the team is pleased to work with the Liebherr Company: "We have chosen a reliable and promising partner. I’m sure that our further cooperation will lead the team to future success. The new engines are well proven in extreme two-week race. This year Liebherr engines were installed on three of the five KAMAZ trucks, which were on "Dakar", but already in 2015 all trucks of "KAMAZ-master" team will go to Dakar with Liebherr engines».

New regulations of "Dakar" limiting from 2016 the engine volume to 16.5 liters actually put under a ban the use of 18-liters Russian engines. Two KAMAZes on the Dakar 2014 were equipped with trusty Yaroslav engine, and on three other race trucks the new Liebherr engine was installed.
