Eduard Nikolaev is catching up for lost time

After yesterday's failure, when the crew of Eduard Nikolaev had to stop for repairs, which lasted for several hours, today he is - the first. The crews of "KAMAZ-master" in the top three of the "Silk Way Rally"

The leaders in trucks category according to the results of the day - the second stage of the rally, are three crews of "KAMAZ-master" team. Andrey Karginov finished first, he overtook the crew of Ayrat Mardeev by 13 minutes 46 seconds. Yesterday's leader Anton Shibalov today is at the third position with a gap from the winner for 22 minutes and 17 seconds. Unfortunately, the car of Eduard Nikolaev had problems, and he seriously lost the time.

The first stage of the "Silk Way Rally" in the crew category was opened by the last year's race winner Ayrat Mardeev (№ 300), which started at 11.23. The 5th edition of the Silk Way Rally will be held from the July 6th to 13th, 2013 and will connect Moscow and Astrakhan by its route. Bivouac Tenadi. Well, for us the longest and difficult stage of rally "Sonangol Africa Eco Race" also came to the end. So actively organizers prepared competitors to this stage, so the previous stage was difficult, that all concentrated and prepared for the worst. Prepare for the worst - it is always correct: if it happens, then you're ready, and if not, you will do everything better than you could. Trucks started, just behind Schlesser, in a sequence that was very favorable to KAMAZ. Today our crew could appreciate in full rivals’ professionalism - in the long distance, on the heavy sands. The position was favorable, guys understood that gradually they would overtake rivals, but were cautious, taught by yesterday's experience. They followed tracks. They caught up with Elizabeth before CP1, and then in one of the sand boxes guys overtook Tomecek. Try not to make mistakes. At one point, there was only the leader of the race Jean-Louis Schlesser ahead.

31.12.2012 Bivouac Oued Draa. For assistance it was very long day - it was about 700 km to the bivouac. The crew had to wait for us. Cargo assistance took to the road today in 2 hours before the start, and arrived to the bivouac quite late, about in three hours after the sports cars - the roads are narrow, worn-down, scarp, there are serpentines ... But we are very happy - the crew rose in 2 positions in the overall and brought to the nearest pursuer more than 17 minutes.
