The prize of the "Snob" magazine called "Made in Russia" is given for the most significant achievements of compatriots who, in the opinion of the expert council, participants of the project and the readers of the magazine, made a significant contribution to the development of domestic and international cultural, scientific and economic processes. It was created by the owner of the "Snob" edition Mikhail Prokhorov and vice-president of the media group "ЖV!" Ksenia Sokolova in 2012. At the first stage, the experts form a long list then in a short list pass those nominees for whom the bigger number of participants of the "Snob" community will vote. The prize is awarded in 13 categories: "Acting ", "Film première", "Music", "Literature", "Theatre", "Art-project", "Business", "Social projects", "Science and Technology" , "Journalism and infotainment", Media project" ,"Gastronomy", "Sport".
Yuri Saprykin, Andrey Bukharin, Anton Dolin, Elena Kovalskaya, Daniil Dondurey, Elena Chekalova, Marat Gelman, Evgenya Candiano, Tatiana Uvarova, Mark Shmulevich, Sergey Gauthier and Nikolay Palazhchenko were members of expert council this year; they determined the list of nominees. Winners were chosen by online voting.
As a result of the vote Eduard Nikolaev managed to outflank the other nominees in "Sport" category, and after all among them there were such celebrities as:
Anastasia Davydova - the five-time champion of the synchronized swimming - Russian flag-bearer at the closing of the Olympic Games.
Maxim Trankov and Tatyana Volosozhar - figure skaters, two-time champions of Russia, two-time champions of Europe, and from 2013 they are World Champions.
Julia Zaripova - runner, who became Olympic champion in steeplechase.
Maria Sharapova - tennis player, following the results of the Us Open tournament she regained second place of the world ranking. She successfully conducted a series of Australian Open tournaments.
