Africa Race. Dmitriy Sotnikov: We were driving with pleasure
08.01.2013
The crew of "KAMAZ-master" team participating in Africa Race finished in tenth, penultimate stage of the rally. It was the last stage in Mauritania, 196 kilometers.
Right after the finish Dmitriy Sotnikov, pilot of the crew, shared his impressions about the stage: "Today it was quite high-speed stage. Probably all the pilots who were driving enjoyed with it. A little bit similar to Astrakhan. There was marathon landscape. Hilly terrain, interesting, generally everything was sandy, medium dunes. We passed everything well. We lost power for five minutes, there was no maximum speed, but then everything was back to normal, and we moved on. We just had a desire to reach the finish line. We were driving with pleasure. It was necessary to do this stage about 400 km instead of 190 km, as we have at Silk Way Rally in Astrakhan."
There are crossing of border with Senegal ahead, long liaison, and tomorrow it will be the last stage. 24 km of special stage will lead competitors to the legendary Pink Lake.
