KAMAZ-MASTER SET OFF FOR KARAKUM

Two crews of KAMAZ-master Team will take part in the international rally “Amul-Khazar 2018”. The race will go in Turkmenistan from 9 to 15 September. The whole length of the route, stretching from banks of the Amu Darya river in the east of the country to the Caspian seashore in the west, will be 1 158 km. There will be four bivouacs along the distance. The first stopping place will be on the territory of Mary Region, in 297 km from the start in Turkmenabat. The second one will be organized in Ahal Region, at the distance of 388 km from the first camp, near famous Darvaza gas crater. The third bivouac – in Dashoguz Region – is in 249-kilometers from the second stop, close to Turkmen Altun Asyl Lake. The fourth stopping place will await the contestants in the Balkan Region, in 409 kilometers from the 3rd bivouac, on Gamushlydzh Plateau. The finish point will be in Avaz at the distance of 223 kilometers from the 4th stop.

The competition will be held at the initiative and under support of the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. On 6th  June during his visit to Kazan he invited KAMAZ-master teamleader Vladimir Chagin to take part in the competition. Participation in “Amul-Khazar 2018”for the Russian Team  is of a great importance. New race trucks, built in accordance with modified technical regulations of Dakar, will pass serious tests in Turkmenistan. Serious challenges await crews of Airat Mardeev (co-pilot Dmitry Svistunov, mechanic Akhmet Galiautdinov) and Dmitry Sotnikov (co-pilot Ruslan Akhmadeev, mechanic Ilgiz Akhmetzianov), moreover that part of the race will go across the Karakum Desert.
