On September 8-10, the off-road competition Alpha Race | Silk Road Series took place in Bashkiria! 31 crews came to the start of the race, the participants competed in four scoring. The race was held as a stage of the Russian Cross Country Rally Championship under the MFR and the All-Russian competition under the aegis of the RAF.
The fords, endless rain, bits of mud flying in from everywhere but definitely in the eyes, difficult steering and a track with no end in sight. This race was intended to be different - warm, fast, bright. There are factors that the organizers will not be able to influence in any way - heavy rain started from the start of the competition and did not stop for three days. Alpha Race of the "Silk Way" series will remain in the memory of participants and mechanics as hard, exhausting and yet unforgettable race.
The best time of the race was shown by the crew of Kamaz pilots Bogdan Karimov and Sergey Krenev, who became the winners in the All-Russian competition under the aegis of RAF. These athletes won three out of five special stages, and, despite a technical breakdown on the final kilometers of the distance, had an advantage over the nearest rivals of about 30 minutes. The final time on the Alpha Race track of Bogdan Karimov and Sergey Krenev 7 hours and 57 minutes.
The result of the second Kamaz crew of Dmitry Avdeev and Ivan Malkov can also be considered excellent. Experienced Andrei Karginov, the team's on-site mentor, noted: "We have carried out important work for us at these competitions. We practiced piloting and navigational skills of young team members. Bogdan Karimov and Sergey Krenev showed themselves perfectly. And Dmitry Avdeev, a trainee of Chelny kart club "Tekhnogorod", not only performed as a pilot in rally-raid discipline for the first time, but also worked in pair with a navigator for the first time. The crew of Dmitry Avdeev and Ivan Malkov took an excellent pace from the first day of the competition, and only an unfortunate breakdown dropped them to the 5th place on the final day".
