The seventh stage of Dakar Rally 2016 finished in Argentina on January, 9. The participants came to Salta, where they would have a rest day.
Again heavy weather conditions influenced the run of the race. The timed section was suspended in the middle, later the organizers made a decision to stop it for motor-riders, the rest sportsmen continued the special.
Crew of Eduard Nikolaev came first in the truck category, this is their second win at the stages of Dakar 2016. The second position was taken by Airat Mardeev, Andrey Karginov is the fifth, Dmitry Sotnikov is the 16th.
There are some changes in the general classification. P.Versluis (MAN) leads the race, beating De Rooy for five minutes. Airat Mardeev ‘climbed’ to the third position. Eduard Nikolaev is the fourth.
