On April 18, the participants of the Baja "Zoloto Kagana - 2023" returned to the right bank of the Volga in the Narimanov and Enotaevsky districts of the Astrakhan region. Here they were waiting for the final high-speed section 254.5 kilometers long, which is a mix of huge sandy islands scattered in the vast expanses of the steppe, covered with fragrant wormwood, the first tulips, and in some places heavy camel thorn.
The tense situation in the general classification table did not allow today the participants in the truck category to fully enjoy the marvelous beauties. Thus, the crew of KAMAZ-master pilot Andrey Karginov was faced with the task of making up for the gap that had developed over the previous three days in front of the crew of Belarusian Siarhei Viazovich in 4 minutes 24 seconds. Apparently, the responsibility for the result and the excitement of the young KAMAZ-master co-pilots caused several navigational errors. As a result, Siarhei Viazovich managed to "take" the result to the finish line (time 3:20:05). The crews of Airat Mardeev, Andrey Karginov, and Sergey Kupriyanov finished the stage in 2nd, 3rd and 4th places respectively.
The winner of the Baja “Zoloto Kagana-2023” was the crew of "MAZ-SPORTauto" Siarhei Viazovich (10:41:50), silver and bronze from KAMAZ-master Andrey Karginov (+0:16:46) and Airat Mardeev (+0:17:44) . Sergey Kupriyanov is seventh according the overall results.
