Tests were passed successfully!

An obligatory requirement for admission to the Dakar Rally 2021 became a negative result of the test for COVID-19. Members of KAMAZ-master team arrived in Jeddah early in the morning of December 27, and went for a two-day quarantine. On Tuesday the whole delegation of Chelny citizens passed all necessary PCR tests, and already on Wednesday received a permission from the government of Saudi Arabia and the event organizers to leave the hotel and pick up vehicles.


“All the Dakar contestants must have two negative PCR tests. Fortunately, all is ok in our team. Now we will check the vehicles to be fine and will go from  the port to the stadium, where the bivouac is situated”, - told the driver Dmity Sotnikov.
 
Early in January the contestants, who received admission to the race, await administrative checks and scrutineering. The ceremonial start of the Dakar will be held in the evening of January 2.   


The 43rd Dakar will start on January 3, from the Red Sea coast in Jeddah. On January 9 contestants will spend the rest day in Ha’il, and finally, after a huge loop through the desert in the Arabian Peninsula, the race caravan will return to the Red Sea coast in order to finish in Jeddah on January 15.


KAMAZ-master team will apply 4 racing trucks KAMAZ-43509. In the truck category of the international competition Russia will be represented by the crews of the reigning winner of the Dakar Andrey Karginov, Anton Shibalov, Airat Mardeev and Dmitry Sotnikov.
