On October, 3 Virazh autodrom welcomed contestants of RAF Cross Country Championship for the Cup of KAMAZ-master. Planned for the beginning of the summer, but postponed due to the pandemic, it was finally possible to carry out the competition.

The strongest junior drivers from all over Russia gathered for the competition. More than 30 athletes from 15 cities and towns - among which are Saint-Petersburg, Voronezh, Togliatti, Ioshkar Ola, Tatarstan and Baskortostan Republics - arrived in the Motor City.

Traditionally the competitions began with the ceremonial start. The event was opened by such honorary guests as Ramil Khalimov – the Deputy Head of the Executive Committee, Roman Nasredinov – the Head of Administration of Sports, Ruslan Badretdinov – the Executive Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Naberezhnye Chelny, Denis Stulnikov – the Director of Vehicle Repair Plant “Korib”. The guests made a welcoming speech and wished the contestants a beautiful competition. Then national flags of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan were risen and the event was officially opened.

The competition was carried out in four categories: D3-Micro, D3-Mini, D3-250, D2-Junior (OKA). The youngest contestants (6-8 y.o.a.) of the Micro category entered the struggle first. “A little goes a long way!” are the right words to describe the battle in this class. Then followed representatives of the most numerous class – D3-Mini, where a tough fight was opened between 17 contestants. Athletes of D3-250 category are the most experienced on higher powered cars kept the spectators on the edge of their seats till the last circle, where the first place was determined. By the way, the whole podium was taken by representatives of KAMAZ-master Junir team. Contestants of D2-Junior (OKA) turned out the most reckless and risky: spectators saw turn overs, shunts and skidding. As a result, on the final run among 7 contestants only 3 toed the starting line.

After such intense fight the rewarding procedure was especially desired. This day there was no contestant who did not receive a present: everyone got gifts from Vivat, Chelny Style brands and KAMAZ-master T-shirts. Also every representative from D3-Micro and D3-Mini received a Cup “For the will to victory”. KAMAZ-master souvenirs were received by finalists from 6 to 4 places, and prize-holders from 3 to 1 positions got valuable presents, for the help to purchase which we are grateful to “KAMA-autoparts” company and Vitaly Makarov personally.
