Karting Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan for the Cup of KAMAZ-master team.

12.09.2022

The summer karting sports season in Naberezhnye Chelny is over! On September 10-11, Tehnocity karting center hosted the final (sixth) stage of the Karting Championship of the Republic of Tatarstan for the Cup of KAMAZ-master team. Competitions were held in 11 sport classes and brought together 130 athletes from Tatarstan and neighboring regions: Nizhny Novgorod, Yekaterinburg, Kirov, Perm, Togliatti, settlements of Udmurtia, Bashkortostan and Tatarstan.

Honored guests delivered a welcoming speech to the athletes, among whom were the Head of the Executive Committee of Naberezhnye Chelny Farid Salakhov, the Chairman of the trade union organization of KAMAZ PTC Ildar Shamilov, the Head of the Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Naberezhnye Chelny Airat Khanbikov, the Head of KAMAZ-master team Vladimir Chagin and pilot Dmitry Sotnikov.

The final stage of the season at the karting center was held in a special way. For the first time, in addition to the already traditional scooter race, a velomobile race took place among the youngest spectators. The legendary KAMAZ-49252, the winner of the Dakar Rally 96, was exhibited in the photo zone for all guests of the competition. Then the crew of Moskovsky, Kuzmin and Bagavetdinov brought the first victory to KAMAZ-master team and to the entire Russian motorsport in general.

For the first time, a live online broadcast was held during the two racing days, and the sport rides became really hot and exciting, because the final points of the Chelny stage influenced the entire republican results of the season. And it was the very race that determined the absolute winner in the Initial Training Group and the owner of a special prize, established by KAMAZ PTC.

12 young athletes aged 6-8 competed for the victory in the youngest class. According to the results of three finals in the time-attack mode (the best lap time goes to the standings), the winner of the stage was Sofia Serova, a representative of Nizhny Novgorod. Her victory was second at the Chelny karting center and allowed her to become the best in three local stages and win a racing kart. Danila Sotnikov from Chelny got silver at this race and became the second in the overall standings, Yaroslav Savarsky from Izhevsk became third: the guys got bicycles.

In the Super Mini class, a bright fight started between the longtime rivals Vladimir Matveev and Diniyar Islamov. By the way, Islamov came to the race in the status of the All-Russian Grand Prix winner of the Rotax Cup and with an invitation to the World Championship in Portugal. However, in the fight at the Chelny stage, the victory was taken by Vladimir Matveev. In the Rotax Max class, Denis Nikolaev became the undisputed leader, and the situation in the struggle for subsequent places was ambiguous. As a result: the second place went to Azat Badretdinov, the third place to Tagir Sharipov, Zakhar Karginov remained one step away from the podium.

The races in Mini, Rotax Max-Junior classes, the most mature and powerful KZ-2 class became tense and sometimes dramatic. The struggle sometimes became contact and with fixation of violations and subsequent penalization, which influenced the final positions on the podium.

Based on the results of the two racing days, leaders of the team standings were determined. The Cup of KAMAZ-master team remained in the city thanks to the victory of KAMAZ-master Junior team. Mad Racing Team (also from Naberezhnye Chelny) took the second position and the Tornado club from Bogatye Saby village became the third.
