On may 15, the first alternative lesson with KAMAZ-master sports team, a multiple prize holder and seventeen-time winner of the Dakar super-marathon, took place in the official community of “KNRTU — Favorite Technological University” in the social network VKontakte.
The speakers were the driver of the team, Honored Master of Sports Eduard Nikolaev and the co-driver, World-class athlete, Head of the Design Department Evgeny Yakovlev. The meeting was held by a graduate of KNRTU - Leonid Yefimov. The live video conversation with the speakers was accompanied by exciting video footage of the rally directly from the cab of the legendary KAMAZ - in the sands and among the snows of the Russian North.
Exciting stories of the speakers and video from competitions inspired the audience and caused a lot of encouraging comments. Several thousand users of the social network connected to the project in real-time mode, and taking into account subsequent offline views, their number exceeded 12 thousand people. Students were interested in whether it is possible to learn how to drive a racing KAMAZ, what changes are there in the truck from competition to competition (the main - answered the speakers - is suspension, smooth ride and engine characteristics). After each competition the team immediately starts to prepare for the next race. "The primary task is to modernize trucks, never stand still."
Many team members were born in Naberezhnye Chelny. “We are proud that there are no legionaries in our team, we are all from Russia”, - emphasized the athletes.
Most of all there were questions about the team, overcoming internal and external obstacles. “We are one big family,” - replied the athletes. “We work together, we drive in the cabin together, we meet with families, we are friends.”
Each speaker chose one of the most interesting questions, their authors will receive souvenirs from KAMAZ-master. Eduard Nikolaev chose the question of overcoming psychological difficulties during the race and Evgeny Yakovlev most of all remembered the question “Can a girl be in the team if she passes the training for a navigator?”.
