KAMAZ-MASTER TEAM WENT THROUGH SCRUTENEERING AND ADMINISTRATIVE CHECKS ON RALLY “DAKAR-2018”

On 6 January in Lima, the capital of Peru, will be given start of the 40th anniversary Dakar Rally. By the morning of 4 January KAMAZ-master Team that flew to the race in two groups, safely gathered in Peruvian capital. Two days went in preparatory technical and regulation works; there were meetings with plenty of journalists, partners and fans of the team.

 In the morning of the 5th January administrative checks and scruteneering awaited our sportsmen. They are obligatory before the race and represent all kinds of control and other procedures, from photographing  participants and mounting of navigation equipment to conformity checks of race vehicles to the race technical regulations.

 On Dakar-2018 KAMAZ-master sets the composition of four “battle” crews:

500 Pilot E.Nikolaev; navigator E.Yakovlev; mechanic V.Rybakov.

502 Pilot D.Sotnikov; navigator R.Akhmadeev; mechanic I.Mustafin.

507 Pilot A.Mardeev; navigator A.Belyaev; mechanic D.Svistunov.

515 Pilot A.Shibalov; navigator D.Nikitin; mechanic I.Romanov.

 Tenth South American and fortieth in general Dakar will go on the territories of three countries – Peru, Bolivia and Argentina. The rally-raid start will be given on 6 January in Lima - after five-year break Dakar returns to Peru. On the territory of this country the race contestants will spend five days. Then Bolivian sections with the rest day on 12 January in La Pas will await them, and the raid will finish on 20 January in Cordoba (Argentina). Traditionally the race marathon of 2018 includes a marathon stage (motor racers will even have two): between La Pas and Tupiza (7 and 8 stages) contestants of all categories will have to go without technical assistance and all possible breakdowns on the night of 14 January the crews will have to fix by themselves without help of mechanics.

 Broadcasts from South America during the whole race will be available for Russian TV viewers in the news editions of state Russian channels – the First channel, Russia-1, Russia-24, NTV, 5 channel, Ren TV and etc. The broadcaster of everyday TV-diaries from Dakar-2018 will be channel Match TV. Also everyday TV-reports of the team’s press service will be available on the team’s website, on the pages of the team in social media and in Youtube (www.youtube.com/user/kamazmastersport).

 Thus, 5 January already by 12:00 local time the race KAMAZ-master trucks, successfully passing scruteneering, moved to the Parc Fermé. The access to the vehicles is limited till the very start of the race. Administrative checks for the team members were also finished. The start podium of the race will be held on 6 January and straight after it the rally caravan will leave Lima for Pisco on 31-kilometer prologue special.
