Today, on June 25, in Naberezhnye Chelny, on the site in front of the General Directorate of KAMAZ, was held a presentation of the new K5 KAMAZ racing truck.
The event was attended by the Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin, the General Director of the State Corporation "Rostec", the Chairman of the Board of Directors of KAMAZ Sergey Chemezov, the Deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Alfiya Kogogina, the General Director of KAMAZ Sergey Kogogin, members of the Board of Directors of the company, the Head of the KAMAZ-master team Vladimir Chagin, representatives of the KAMAZ-master team and KAMAZ workers.
On behalf of the General Director of KAMAZ PTC, a lot of work on creation of the new racing truck of the K5 family - KAMAZ-435091 - went on throughout 2020 and continued immediately after KAMAZ-master team's return from the Dakar 2021. The brand-new sports truck received into itself all experience of previous years. The changed appearance of the cab will become a part of the factory marketing program for promoting the new family of KAMAZ trucks on the international and national truck market.
According to the Deputy Director of Production and Development of the team, Sergei Savostin, in the development and design of the new truck KAMAZ-master engineers were guided by the upcoming changes in the FIA technical regulations, adopted for the World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies scheduled for 2022.
After the presentation, the truck will go to Omsk for the start of the Silk Way Rally 2021. The reigning champion of the Dakar Rally Dmitry Sotnikov with his victorious crew will drive the new truck.
The sports truck with a 4x4 wheel formula is capable of a maximum speed of 165 kmh. Overall length is 6900, the height is 3300, the width is 2550. The curb vehicle weight without fuel is 8600 kg. The gross weight is 10200 kg.
KAMAZ-435091 is equipped with a six-cylinder in-line diesel engine with a turbocharger and intercooling. Automatic variable gearbox. The engine capacity is 12.98 liters. The volume of the fuel tank is 950 liters.
Type of wheels is disc aluminum with a tire pressure regulation system. Tires are Goodyear ORD 375/90 R22.5. The type of brake mechanisms is drum.
