On 23 August the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov met with the organizers of the Silk Way Rally and members of KAMAZ-master Team. The meeting was held in the Presidential residency of Tatarstan – Governor’s Palace of the Kazan Kremlin.
“I am congratulating you with the end of another sport season, - said Rustam Minnikhanov. – Once again you proved to the world that you are the best team, experts in motorsport. You symbolize reliability, speed, professionalism and dedication to your work. For many years KAMAZ-master has been an irreplaceable winner and prize holder of various competitions. The result of the last season was certainly achieved by the competent and coordinated work of the team under the leadership of Vladimir Chagin, and by the renewal course, carried out since 2012. Experienced masters trained their successors and the new sportsmen show high results. Since 2013 young crews annually get winning places on rally-raids. Thanks to your achievements thousands of people have become interested in motorsport and decided to connect their lives with automobile production. Words of gratitude to the KAMAZ-master crews, technical staff, teachers, and all supporters of the team.”
Rustam Minnikhanov especially thanked the management of PJSC KAMAZ and its General Director Sergey Kogogin. “I am sure that there are new victories ahead of you, they won’t be easy – as the rivals are very strong. I’m sure that you will give unforgettable emotions to your fans, continuing to write bright history of Russian motorsport! Your every victory is very important for Russia, Tatarstan, KAMAZ, - said Rustam Minnikhanov to the racers.
The Tatarstan President presented state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to the members of KAMAZ-master Team - Medals of the Order of Merit for the Republic of Tatarstan, Medal of the Republic of Tatarstan for Valorous Labour, Title of the Honoured Machine Builder of the Republic of Tatarstan, Title of Honoured Transport Worker of the Republic of Tatarstan, letter of thanks of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan – all in all 18 awards were given.
Vladimir Chagin, the leader of KAMAZ-master Team, made a reply. He mentioned that the team’s victory is also a merit of the authorities of the Republic and Naberezhnye Chelny and PJSC KAMAZ, having created all conditions for the sportsmen to do favorite work and succeed.
“A huge preparatory work for the Silk Way Rally is behind, - said Vladimir Chagin. – A big large-scale titanic work was held, it is a competition, stretched in time and distance – almost 10 thousand km and 14 days. It is encouraging that governments of countries, authorities of regions support Silk Way Rally, it unites very much – sport helps to unite peoples, motorsport contributes to the technological development. I would like to emphasize our Tatarstan stage of the Silk Way Rally. I am sure that the race participants will remember it for long in terms of organization, a warm welcome of fans, beauty of nature. It goes without saying, Rustam Nurgalievich, that your attention and personal control of organization aided to carry out the competition on the highest level.”
