On 14 October award “Person of the Year in Motorport” was presented at Moscow Raceway motordrome within Russian Motorsport Forum.
The deputy head of KAMAZ-master Team for external-affairs, navigator, three-time winner of Dakar Rall, two-time winner of Silk Way Rally and repeated winner of other prestigious competitions Aidar Belyaev was awarded a special prize by the organizers of “For Loyalty to Motorsport” award.
Aidar Belyaev started to work in KAMAZ since 1991 as a design-engineer of special purpose machinery department of Research and Development Center. Almost from the very beginning of his working career he started to prepare KAMAZ trucks to the international competitions. And then he led the team at road-circular races on freight trucks, taking part in European Championship. After 1994 the KAMAZ race life totally switched to preparation and participation in international rally-marathons. Belyaev started an active work in this direction. Together with colleagues he developed and made race trucks. In international rally-marathon “Master-Rally-95” on the route “Paris-Moscow-Ulan-Bator-Beijing” he plays a role of the assistance group leader. Since 1996 he performs as a race crew navigator.
Presenting the award, the well-known Russian motorsport journalist Mikhail Lastochkin mentioned that Aidar Belyaev certainly deserves an award as for professional longevity, so for big and important work of transfer his experience to young sportsmen.
