GIANT-DRIFT ON THE MILLENNIUM SQUARE

31.08.2017

Eduard Nikolaev and Airat Mardeev performed miracles of virtuoso driving of their race trucks.

The fourth annual motor show Kazan City Racing was held in Kazan on the Republic’s Day: improvised track was traditionally “placed” on the Millennium Square, and best representatives of Tatar, Russian and world motor sport became participants of the brilliant performance. Kazan citizens and guests of the capital could see virtuous “traffic cops”, the future Formula1 star and cars of quite new for Russia race series Mitjet.  About 20 thousand spectators gathered on the square. The Tatarstan President also visited the festival.

Spectators greeted pilots of native KAMAZ-master Team with enthusiasm: two large-tonnage race bolids, driven by two Dakar champions Airat Mardeev and Eduard Nikolaev, showed miracles of synchronic drift. It was an impressive performance. A lot of people stood in queue during the guys’ autograph session.

“Unfortunately, Tatarstan citizens seldom see our trucks and our team “alive”, because they are either on competitions or dismantled during preparatory period. This motorsport festival is held for several years already and it is pleasant and honorable to be present on it, - noticed KAMAZ-master leader Vladimir Chagin. – Tatarstan citizens and guests of the republic have a chance to see our strong trucks and other brilliant vehicles that are here today. Those who are at the wheel of their bikes, cars and trucks must show jewelry work. It is really challenging – beautifully and accurately show their vehicle’s features on such a small track on dry asphalt.”
